Blizzard summed up the outgoing year, recalling the launch of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, Overwatch 2 and Diablo Immortal, as well as sharing some statistics.
So, in 2022, gamers spent about 12 billion hours in Blizzard games. The company also attracted 50 million new players, which includes the number of new Battlenet accounts that played at least one game.
In addition, the company confirmed that it intends to hold BlizzCon in 2023, which will be discussed in more detail early next year. And work on Blizzard's survival game in the new universe is in full swing: the development team has doubled this year, and further expansion is expected in 2023. By the way, the team is led by Dan Hay, who led the Far Cry series at Ubisoft Montreal and left the company after ten years at the end of 2021.
And, of course, the company notes that Diablo IV will be released in 2023 - the game will be released on June 6 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
