NVIDIA DLSS scaling support is already implemented in 300 games and applications
NVIDIA announced about reaching a new peak in coverage with its intelligent image scaling technology DLSS the upscaler is now used in more than 300 games and applications. Remember that NVIDIA DLSS was released in February 2019 with version 1.0, updated to 2.0 in April 2020, and updated to 3.0 in September 2022. The technology is only available to owners of RTX graphics cards (RTX 40 series in the case of DLSS 3). It took NVIDIA just over four years to scale to 300 games and applications with DLSS support. The technology broke the 150 project mark in February 2022 and reached the peak of 250 products in January 2023.
Earlier this week, D5 Render received support for DLSS 3, and post-apocalyptic MMO shooter Ashfall will be integrated with this technology at release. What distinguishes DLSS 3 from previous versions of the upscaler is the frame generation technology, which is based on an optical flow accelerator (only available on RTX 40 series cards) and offers the possibility to independently create additional frames.
With DLSS 2, two games were released in Steam Early Access – cooperative horror film The Outlast Trials (out May 18) and survival shooter Voidtrain (May 8). A patch with DLSS 2 for the bus simulator Bus Simulator 21 has also been released. As a reminder, DLSS uses machine learning technologies to intelligently scale an image on the fly, improving performance without significantly degrading image quality.
