An open world, a motorcycle and an imminent release: an insider told what to expect from the next Tomb Raider
Developers from the Crystal Dynamics studio are in no hurry to share details of the next game in the Tomb Raider action-adventure series, but new details of the project were revealed by an insider under the pseudonym V Scooper.
According to V Scooper, who has proven his worth in film leaks, the new Tomb Raider will take players to the open world of India, where the tomb raider will be able to freely travel on a motorcycle.
“Northern India is struck by a cataclysm that reveals the ancient ruins of Emperor Ashoka. Lara rushes for the powerful relics hidden in them in a race with the “Raider Society” and other rivals , ” reports V Scooper.
V Scooper clarified that the "Raider Society" is inspired by Lara herself, but is not related to her and may have its own motives. The game will allegedly feature the mechanics of recruiting teams and allies to help complete missions and defeat opponents.
Colin Moriarty spoke about the mysterious cataclysm, Lara's inspiration for an entire generation of tomb robbers and her work with allies in the new Tomb Raider the summer before last, with reference to a fragment of the game script.
Among other things, V Scooper assures that the game will feature a parachute and Lara’s usual means of movement, a large map, challenges, and an emphasis on non-lethal methods of reprisal. The release is expected before mid-2025.
The currently unnamed Tomb Raider is being created on Unreal Engine 5 and does not even have an official release date. The project is positioned as a single-player story adventure that continues the story of the “confident and multi-faceted” Lara Croft.
