AMD reveals Starfield system requirements for “best experience” in 4K
AMD as the exclusive technical partner for the highly anticipated space role-playing game Starfield on PC cleared System requirements of the project with regard to their products. Bethesda Softworks talked about Starfield’s “appetite” on PC back in June, but this announcement was limited to two configurations (minimum and recommended) without specifying resolution and performance goals. AMD’s release also reveals what kind of machine users need to play Starfield at 1440p and 4K resolution, but only on the company’s own hardware – with no analogues from NVIDIA or Intel.
For 1440p, the company recommends an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor and a Radeon RX 6800 series graphics card. This combination will do the trick “Maximum graphics settings and high frame rates”. For 4K gaming, AMD recommends using an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor with a Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card. This configuration provides users “The best Starfield experience in 4K”.
It was previously reported that Starfield will support AMD FSR 2 scaling as part of the AMD-Bethesda partnership. Whether DLSS 3 will appear in the game is unclear, but modder PureDark has already promised it.
Starfield is coming September 6th for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox).
