Italy introduces a tax on profits from cryptocurrencies
The Italian Parliament has approved amendments to the 2023 budget. They imply a 26% tax on capital gains earned from trading cryptocurrencies.
Thus, the budget legitimizes crypto assets, now citizens are required to inform the tax authorities about their income from them.
Tax will be charged if there is a profit of more than 2000 euros.
On the one hand, we see logical steps towards the regulation of cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, such high taxes, let's be honest, hardly anyone wants to pay. In this case, there is obviously a field for the development of schemes for laundering income from the crypt, so the state will clearly not benefit.
