Blue Protocol players go buck naked, sacrificing their characters’ dignity for FPS
Bandai Namco’s Blue Protocol, a shareware online action role-playing game, launched in Japan. The release wasn’t without technical hiccups, but players found an unusual way to improve performance. According to portal automatic citing social media comments from Japanese Blue Protocol users found out that increasing the frame rate in raids is made easier by removing all armor from the character. According to user feedback, the performance gain when undressing a character is relatively high and has no negative impact. The fact of the matter is that gear in the Blue Protocol is purely for self-expression – it doesn’t affect traits and doesn’t grant bonuses. In the week since its release in Japan (where the game debuted on June 14), Blue Protocol has already attracted more than 600,000 people, and the online peak in that time has been over 200,000 concurrent users.
The Japanese market, Blue Protocol 2024 will be released on PC (steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The project is published by Amazon Games. By the end of 2023, it is planned to conduct a closed “beta” of the PC version.
