Research has linked plant-based diets to:
Lowered greenhouse gas emissions decreased deforestation and wildlife destruction.

One 2018 study published in Frontiers in Nutrition found that compared to diets which included meat and animal products, vegetarian and vegan diets produced almost 50 percent less greenhouse gas emissions, required almost 27 percent less energy for food production, and had a 41.5 percent smaller environmental impact overall.
