Skyrim Bandit Dodges Arrow With Perfect Timing Like He Has Spidey Sense
A player of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim watches in disbelief as a bandit sidesteps their perfectly aimed arrow at the last second.
A new video shows a bandit from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim expertly dodging an arrow at the last second. The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim allows gamers to choose from a wide variety of weapons including two-handed swords, axes, and daggers. Players can also utilize different types of spells, to damage or disrupt their enemies, from one of the many schools of magic present in the game.
Fans interested in taking a stealthier approach can choose to sneak around opponents or kill them from afar using a bow and arrow. Each weapon or magic type has its own skill tree, giving users access to new perks and abilities that can enhance their gameplay style. As an example, the archery skill tree in Skyrim lets fans slow down time while aiming, in addition to a small chance to paralyze the target. Now, one Skyrim player unleashes an arrow toward a bandit, only for him to dodge it perfectly as if he has Spidey-Sense.
A Reddit user named PhilliesChamps has shared a small clip featuring a Skyrim bandit perfectly dodging an arrow at the last second. PhilliesChamps aims at a relatively far-off enemy using a bow, and it looks like their arrow will hit the target. However, right before getting hit, the bandit manages to avoid the arrow by sidestepping to the left of the player’s target marker. To add to the frustration, it doesn’t seem like they properly dodged the arrow, as it looks like the game simply changed the position of the enemy so that they avoid getting hit.
PhilliesChamps mentions that this is not the first time a similar incident has occurred in their playthrough of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and many users appear to relate to their problem. Some players mention that the side dodge looks unrealistic, with a few commending the enemy’s impressive reaction speed. One user also mentions taking advantage of this mechanic by hilariously tricking enemies into sidestepping toward an oncoming arrow.
In the post’s title, the player mentions that they are playing the PS5 version of Skyrim Special Edition, which came out on November 11, 2021, alongside an Anniversary Edition to celebrate the game’s 10-year anniversary. Skyrim is over a decade old at this point, and Bethesda has re-released the game several times on various platforms, including the Switch. However, some issues or unexpected mechanics, like the one featured in the post, have remained in Skyrim despite these re-releases.
