Bored Ape Yacht Club is getting its own film trilogy
Crypto exchange Coinbase is making the three-episode film series "The Degen Trilogy", starring NFTs from the collection of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Owners of BAYC NFTs will be able to audition their favorite apes to be characters in the upcoming series. If chosen, the happy owner of the ape will receive $10,000, paid in Bitcoin or Yuga Labs' own Ape Coin.
Each ape in the series will feature different traits and accessories, and Coinbase is asking owners to create a backstory for their character. Coinbase says that they have "an incredible group of directors, writers, and animators" behind this film, but their names are not revealed yet.
Coinbase is planning to present the first episode of the series at the NFT.NYC conference. The event will take place June 20-23. According to the description, the film will take place in downtown Manhattan, in a world in which "digital goods and services surpassed all other indicators as a measure of value."
The Bored Ape Yacht Club team said that they are already working on the second movie, starring apes not only from BAYC but also from the collection of Mutant Ape Yacht Club.
Meanwhile, two members of the BAYC community have opened the Bored & Hungry restaurant in Long Beach, California. It’s the first restaurant in the US to accept Ethereum or $APE (ApeCoin).
